Lord of the Rings - Stage Musical

Following its 2006 world premiere at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, Canada, the stage version of The Lord Of The Rings set out to push the boundaries of what people expect to see in the theatre. Acclaimed set designer Rob Howell commissioned Kite Related Design to develop and produce two major pieces for the production, The Balrog and The Cracks Of Doom. Using uncluttered economy, each constituent part fitting neatly into a small luggage bag, Carl Robertshaw and his team have achieved maximum impact to a scale in excess of thirteen metres on stage.

‘In this show the human element fights hard and sometimes wins, but the mechanical element, which is after all a human invention, is wonderful’
